Unifying the blog

We are going to unify the blog to this one blog, rather than having one per product or technology.  Each product will have it’s own category on the blog, so if you are only interested in one specific product you can just grab that one RSS Feed. This allows us to blog on a single location, but gives you the ability to subscribe to only what you want to read.

Blog Categories

The current blog categories are as follows.  Each is for a specific target of user, but you may be interested in all of them.  The Infinite Codex site will show all of these by default.  But the product sites will only show a feed of their category.

From the main page you can see the categories on the right side of the screen.  The little orange RSS logo next to each category is a feed of only that category.  You can subscribe directly through that logo to any category.

Subscribing here is like reading the main blog feed for the site and includes all categories listed below.  Use the main Subscribe link at the top of each page to view this RSS feed.

VistaDB

Information specific to VistaDB.  I expect this to be the primary blog for the product going forward.  All new content for VistaDB will be added to this category.

Search Related

Information specific to our search related API and the products that consume it.  We will also include information about search optimization and explanations about how we crawl sites, index them, etc.  The Infini Search Engine is the API, and we are already preparing to release the first product based upon that technology to allow ASP.Net site search.

Database Related

We have a number of database related technologies that are not specific to VistaDB.  This will be the area for discussion about those technologies.  We call these technologies and products CornerstoneDB.

Research

General Dot Net and programming related research posts go in this category.  We often find interesting topics about garbage collection, data structures, and just general coding design techniques that others may also find interesting.  Some of these posts will include things we are working on for future projects.

Code Project

Articles that have been tagged for Code Project.  This articles are included in the appropriate categories as well, but Code Project pulls a feed from us to include in their technical blogs section.  These items are the ones that show up on their site.

General

The general category is just the catch all for anything non specific going on at Infinite Codex.  I often blog about business related topics about the business of selling software and APIs.

One location to get information

It is our goal to provide one location for users to find information about all the various things we do as a company.  This site is the primary outlet for information about our company, and having one blog here will centralize the rss experience as well.
