About our Company

Our original company name was VistaDB Software, Inc., and we were founded in March 2007 by Jason Short as part of the acquisition of the VistaDB assets from Vista Software.  The previous owner had been working on the VistaDB software and brand since 1997, but decided to pursue other opportunities.

Our offices are located in Mount Dora, Florida, United States.  We are a small team of dedicated senior software engineers with extensive experience in commercial applications centered around large scale data manipulation, search indexes, content filtration, web crawling, and data indexing.

VistaDB is our Core Product

VistaDB is our flagship product used by thousands of developers worldwide and our technology has been licensed by such prominent companies as Red Box, FedEx, US District Courts, Telligent, Kodak, and Gibraltar Software.  There are over 250,000 runtimes deployed to end users all over the world.

CornerstoneDB Tools

CornerstoneDB is a new brand we have created to build database tools that .Net developers need.  We put them under a new name so people will understand that they work with more than just VistaDB.  In fact we are shipping with support for SQL Server, SQL CE, VistaDB 4.x, and MySql.

These are all tools we have needed ourselves as a database developer, and recognized that others need them too.

We did change our name

In January 2010 we decided to change our name to better reflect the growth of the company into new markets and products.  The new company name is Infinite Codex, Inc.  VistaDB is our product and brand, but we are so much more than just one product.  We are now offering other products and services around other types of embedded databases, not just VistaDB. 

We didn't want to confuse potential new customers, or have them overlook our products as being only for VistaDB.  Most of our sql database tools work with VistaDB and SQL Server, but some are standalone embedded specialty systems to prove technology or research.

We work closely with leading software companies in our industry to ensure that VistaDB is fully compatible with their platforms and development tools. We are a Microsoft Certified ISV and Visual Studio Industry Partner.

Microsoft BizSpark is a program for startup companies early in their lifespan to help them get the Microsoft tools and technologies they need to grow.  We have really liked being part of the program.  I think this is our last eligible year.

Are you a small business?

We also have a LinkedIn VistaDB Group. It is mostly for discussing business related issues, things not around your database, how to sell your product, deal with customers, etc.  A lot of our customers are also small business owners, so we thought this would be a great place to get together and talk biz.

I would also highly recommend you visit the Micropreneur Academy for a great place to discuss products, strategy, and more.  The academy has a fantastic program that gives you access to directed learning sessions all around launching your first product.
